Boeing and Airbus: Strategy and Vision
2.1 Strategy and Vision:
Boeing’s mission statement states that they are the largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes and defense, space and security systems. It also talks about all of the countries that they support through exporting. Finally they talk about their products, their employees and their leadership. Boeing’s vision statement is to be the strongest, best and best integrated aerospace-based company in the world. Boeing’s corporate values include; leadership, integrity, quality, customer satisfaction, people working together, a diverse and involved team, good corporate citizenship and enhancing shareholder value.
Airbus’ mission statement states that they are meeting the needs of airlines and operators by producing the most modern and comprehensive aircraft family on the market. They also talk about having the highest standard of product support. Airbus’ vision statement is to create the best and safest aircraft. Airbus’ corporate values are; youth development, environment – biodiversity program and humanitarian and community support.
Both company’s mission statements are similar in that they talk about their products, but Boeing also includes information on the countries that they are supporting through export, information on their employees and on their leadership. Airbus’ vision statement is just about their product where Boeing’s is about being a great, strong aerospace-based company. Boeing’s vision statement is more all-encompassing and open ended. Airbus’ corporate values are youth development, an environmental program and humanitarian and community support. There are very specific philanthropic items where Boeing stays much broader with leadership, integrity, quality, customer satisfaction, people working together, corporate citizenship, etc..
