Dress for the next level. Leaders should be familiar with the book entitled, Empowering Yourself, by Harvey Coleman. This book highlights the PIE model (Performance, Image, and Exposure). Performance emphasizes the daily tasks that the employee is assigned and responsible to do with quality and thoroughness, with approximately 10% answerability. Image relates to the way that people view each other...how one showcases his or her personal brand, with approximately 30% answerability. Exposure is the networking that one does internally and externally for the company to display skills, talents, and expertise with approximately 60% answerability. As one learn new skills, it is important to show and tell so others will know the potential to move to the next level.
