To begin with the movie takes away the experience of the book as it skipped many important parts that were in the book. This change in the storyline altered the experience of the movie as the emotions you feel while reading the book are just not there in the movie. Some good examples of this could be the scene in the book were John narrowly escapes the mogadorians by jumping out the window and gliding to the next building. Without this scene the suspense in the movie is not there. Another major scene that the movie added was when Henri died early on in the movie instead of at the ending like in the book. I felt like this was not a good idea as you want the viewer to feel the same sadness as John but how is this possible if Henri dies too early. Also it felt like the movie took out more scenes than they added by doing this it made the whole story just feel rushed. Because of this there were many times in the movie that were hard to follow unless you read the
