Boom Boom Boom Pow: Poem Comparison
Boom Boom Pow by:mason ¨Run run get away from here, it's going to explode.¨

I was 40% bored out of my MIND because I have been in a car for 8 hours with only 4 stops , but I also was 60% crazy hyped because we were in Illinois and that meant we were close to Havana the city that my Grandpa and Grandma lived in. Just then I saw the small windmill in their front yard, that when my INSANE EAGER-OMETER was at 100%, so I screamed at the top of my lungs ¨We Are Here We Are HERE.¨
So my mom pulled into the driveway and we started unloading all the bags, will I unloaded all the unstable fireworks with wared, tremblay hands holding up the week

I found a firecracker on the ground. I put 2 and 2 together and thought why not light it, it won't kill anybody, and i'm killing 2 birds with one stone because i’m using up my punk and not wasting it and getting rid of a firecracker. I picked it up and as soon as I touched my punk to the wick it lit and burned as quick as a cheetah and EXPLOdED right in my face. I fell back and my ears were ringing I couldn't hear anything. I was partially blinded by the explosion. As I open my eye I am laying in the dirt so I quickly stood up and looked up to see if anyone saw, luckily no one saw so I ran quickly …show more content…
Me and my mom brought out the box into the field, far from the house. It had 6 inches of fuse for precaution and to give people a chance to get away. I touched the puck to the tip of the wick and it instantly started burning, me and my mom started walking, we walked about 6 feet from the boom boom box. The first shot went into the air and exploded with a huge BOOM. Then the unbelievable happened. The force from the first shot tipped the boom boom box over, that is when it shot off it’s second shot into the woods and tuned to the left and then into my Grandpa’s garden, then under the trampoline.
That's when my mom yelled ¨Run, run get away from here.¨ Then it turned and shot at the HOUSE. everyone started running inside, I jumped off the trailer and as soon as I did a shot exploded at the foot of the porch. But a spark got inside the box and lite of all the others in a big bang to end the day.

From that day forward I learned that I should be more careful with fireworks, I should always have an adult present while using fire, think twice before you act, and take care of family first. Even though a lot of things went wrong nobody got hurt and nothing was damaged or combusted, so in a way everything went as planned???? Well at the end of the day it was just a little something to laugh about, so it is ok to take risks every once in awhile. Oh and don't forget to be careful with

Hiding behind a fence post, my dad prepared to fire his next missile. Careful not to expose too much of his body, he would survey the area for his enemy. One could see the look of determination in his eyes when he spotted his target. He would load his barrel, light the fuse, and take aim. Only the screams of his adversary were indications of his accuracy. Although brave, my father is not a war hero. He is simply a survivor of the bottle rocket duel with my uncle. Fireworks play an important part of celebration in my family as well as in the families of many other Americans; fireworks mean many different things to people of all ages.…

A poem is an expression of emotion or ideas through literary work, often with a distinctive style and rhythm. Kenneth Slessor’s ‘Beach Burial’ and Bruce Dawe’s ‘Elegy for Drowned Children’ both present ideas on how individuals lament for the passed, through the major theme of death. Beach Burial follows the recurring events of the battle of El Alamein in WW2, whilst The Elegy for Drowned Children questions the fate of those unfortunate souls who have drowned. Although both poems incorporate drownin, they contrast in their interpretation of death and the ‘afterlife’. This idea of death is explored through the use of setting, language techniques and symbolism. The poet’s use these devices to emotionally connect with the reader, and each contribute to the specific meanings they are attempting to convey.…

They had a guest bedroom waiting to be my room for the whole summer. I said bye to my new friend Jaden and got off the plane. I made sure I had all of my luggage and that nothing has been removed. I walked to where my aunt and uncle said they would meet me. I was new to this airport so it was hard for me to find where anything was. I eventually ended up finding them of course, but I had to ask several people for…
