Boulevard Endoscopy Center Reflection
Interning at Queens Boulevard Endoscopy Center has been a learning experience. Not a day went by of interning where I was not amused. It is amusing to know what I learned taking all of the health science classes was put to use tremendously. It is now winding down to the last few days of completing my 180 hours soon. My first day of interning was one of the most overwhelming and stressful feelings I have had. I went in this center knowing nothing. If there are more than one physician at the office then make sure each physician gets a copy of the appointments for the day. Once you give the physicians a copy of the appointments, take the other copy and go pull all medical records that are needed for the day and place them in a secure location where Medical Assistants can get them. Check the medical records to see if there is enough progress note space available for the physician to write notes, if not then add a new sheet. Also look over the medical records from previous visits to see if there was any lab work or treatments were ordered for the patient and see if the results are ready for the physician.…

The following paper, through the mind and words of a fictionalized character, examines the crucial issues and various changes the imperial relationship between Great Britain and its North American colonies underwent in the mid-to-late eighteenth century. Drawing upon various historical events and enactments, the story of Gerald Gardner, a Bostonian merchant, will try to synthesize these events and provide a reflection upon the American Revolution from the point-of-view of those who shared his line of work. While the following opinions expressed display the feelings and attitudes of one man, the same cannot be applied historically to all of the merchant class. The characters and opinions are fictional, however, the historical events, legislation, and enactments are not.…

I laid in a cot in my own section of the surgical center. I was about to meet my anesthesiologist for my arthroscopic knee surgery. An anesthesiologist is in charge of administering anesthetics “prior to, during, or after surgery or other medical procedures” (“Anesthesiologists”). The anesthesiologist entered the room and greeted me. She was going to be in charge of my life while I was under. She had to give me just the right amount of anesthetics. Too much and I would perish. Too little and I would awake during surgery and feel every tugging motion inside my knee. Outside the operating room far off is an observatory where an astronomer is hard at work. What he does is fascinating and fantastical to my eyes but it would not be something I would like to do full time. Becoming an anesthesiologist is what I decided to do because it is more of a true full time job, it requires a lot of work, and it is overall a career that is both exhilarating and interesting for me.…
