Braden Scale
Enfermagem, Latino. Predictive Validity of the Braden Scale for Pressure Ulcer Risk. 2011 January. www.eerp.usp.pr/rlae. Enfermagem study implicates the efficiency of Braden scale as an indicative measures for PU development. Covering four intensive care units of general private hospital considering certain criteria of first, second and third assessment of Braden Scale, the study is indeed another step to obtain validation that using the scale is effective by achieving cut -off score of thirteen. Identified patients admitted in ICU without PU who eventually stay in premises with specific number of hours in certain patient that requires critical care marks were divided in groups. Enfermagem methodology in gaining result includes socio-demographic and clinical data with the precipitating factors for each patients. Subsequently, second and third assessment obtained increase percentage of specificity and sensitivity. The identified intensive study and evaluation are significant for further research since this research limits in a single hospital. It does not give a wide range of assessment and variety of factors that might affect the condition of patients within span of care like current nutritional status and how positively or negatively a patient responded in the treatment of underlying disease. In the future, wider respondents in different department like Coronary Care Unit perhaps should be included. In addition, the health care staffs who attend to patient's needs for exercise such as mobilization and consistent monitoring should be part of extrinsic factor to be evaluated.

care patients are receiving and to improve the quality of care given. Healthcare workers should be identifying the root causes of outcomes, regardless of the outcome. Tracking of these outcomes, recognizing the differences and similarities of each, and making changes to the care provided based on this information is evidenced-based practice. Nursing-sensitive indicators are categorized into one of three areas of nursing: structural, process, and outcome. Structural indicators include adequate staffing and education and experience levels of the nurses providing the care. Those with higher levels of education and experience are said to have better outcomes than those with less experience and/or education. Process…
