Participants reported to have received information from mass media. Intermediate level of knowledge about breast cancer risk factors and breast cancer signs and symptoms was found among female university students. Breast self-examination (BSE) practices were found to be poor. Few female students regularly performed breast self- examination every month. There is need to equally emphasize the importance of breast self-examination as it is for cervical cancer screening. Health care providers providing cervical cancer screening to communities of interest should take advantage of the teaching moment and include breast cancer screening and education as a package. Pre-post education intervention studies need to be conduct among university female students to assess the knowledge and skills outcomes of the education session on breast cancer risk factors, signs and symptoms, BSE practices and techniques. Training all health care providers on BSE is the way to propagate BSE skills across the entire
