Breastfeeding has been around since the beginning of time. Majority of mammals feed their newborn children with breast milk until they can feed themselves or until they are ready to try new things. There are many benefits to breastfeeding and building a connection between the mother and child is one of them. Nursing your child gives the mother the special bonding experience that many mothers enjoy and gives the baby the physical contact that can help them feel more secure and warm. I believe that the biggest reason that mothers these days nurse their babies is because of the antibodies found in their personal breast milk that help their young ones fight off infections. Those antibodies create barriers to decrease infections and growth of bacteria and viruses. Studies have shown that breastfed babies have fewer infections and hospitalizations than formula-fed babies. For most babies, especially premature babies, breast milk is easier to digest than formula because the components of breast milk are easier to breakdown in their immature systems. This also helps with fewer incidences of diarrhea and constipation. Not all mothers can breastfeed though so
