Brief Summary Of Race Traitor Joel Gilbert

The story was not a very happy story at first but toward the end Joel Gilbert finally finds himself and wants to change the United States. In the beginning of the story Race Traitor Joel Gilbert has an abusive family and a very mean father. His parents then get a divorce making Joel and his siblings move in with their mother which doesn’t seem so bad until their father kept breaking into their new house so they move again. This brought everyone closer together and they were finally free from their dad until two years later. The siblings find themselves moving back in with their father but it’s not a happy reunion because his father starts to beat and abuse Joel and his older brother everyday leaving him depressed. The story gets even more
depressing when Joel becomes an outcast with few friends but finds some interests in life like world war two and Nazism. He doesn’t see the bad in these things just the power they give him. It gets better when he moves back in with his mother because that’s when he gets into reading and Malcolm X and different movements but he also gets more depressed and ends up in a mental institution and finds that it only makes him worse and ends up leaving. He becomes homeless for a while but has a job and makes a decision to go back to his mom’s house but instead gives the money to his homeless friends and the story becomes happy with him getting a place to live, a girlfriend, and going to college. The story has a happy ending because he is living a happy life now and still has goals to change the world and destroy the system to help people who are going through what he had to go through growing up.
