Theodore William Allen was an independent writer, working intellectual and activist. He is known for his works that contributed a great deal in theory that is critical of race and the origins of it. He wrote a lot on concepts of racism and the special privileges of the white people. His vast interest in racial segregation, which derives from a made up concept is what perhaps, pioneered this work on “The Invention of the white Race”. He defines race and where it comes from and how it was used to separate oppressed people from each other.
Theodore’s work was to expose the conception of the white race as a tool to bring “white people” of all sorts together in supremacy and support of slavery. He wants to eradicate the white race syndrome and see equality. He defines his hatred towards the egocentric attitude that seems to run in white people who think they are special and should be always treated highly. This is a common trait that is seems to run through white people. Although some may argue this is unlike most whites and he cannot write a work to condemn a vice amongst his own race. He can because consciousness will show you what is wrong and how to change it. You cannot simply believe because a person is of the race they are speaking of the consciousness of their faults of they cannot be valid.
