British Air Pollution
Article one describes how the air pollution was so bad in 16 British cities that the British covered was placed into violation of EU laws. Air pollution is a serious public health threat and it kills up to tens of thousands of people every year. In fact it states that researchers concluded that just up to two hours of exposure to tragic fumes causes significant reductions in lung capacity among people who have resiratory conditions. Even worse is that the diesel fumes contain carbon particles that are believed to enter the blood increasing you're risk of a heart attack. Article two explains that women are much more likely to die by 38% from sudden cardiac arrest if they live near major roads. Even though researchers couldn't 100% prove air
pollution was the cause it's very likely the explanation. There was even a chance that people living in Chernobyl might have a lower health risk than those living in a big city.
