The individuals delivering and participating in the BCSCP are twelve (12) trained facilitators; six of them will have an academic background in Marriage and Family, Social Work, or Clinical Counseling. These selected AA places of worship represent 34 churches across the two-county region referred to as the Inland Empire, which maintain active health ministries or have community engaged congregations. African-American churches remain the community hub for AA social connectedness. The church is a vehicle to deliver message related to mental health and wellness, improving mental health outcomes, and social community services (Stanton-Tindall, Duvall, Steven-Watkins, & Oser).
