Case Study Review Case Study Number One “But I Consider Myself to Be Credentialed”
In summarizing the case study Lydia graduated from college and began her career. Because of her husband’s transfer she was able to work with her old friends from college Fernando and Matilda. When she started the job it did not require the specific credentials according to Fernando. Once Matilda became familiar with Lydia’s situation she didn’t give Lydia options to make sure her credentials were on file. The case review didn’t explain that Fernando and Matilda made those judgment calls because of their friendship but it was obvious that they wouldn’t have let it happen with

I understand that they are old classmates and she helped him out, but the ethical thing to do was to cover themselves and Lydia. Penalties can be severe if violations are found. You can work hard all your life and work up a great reputation with your higher ups and build trust and just one mistake can erase all those years of hard work that you built. This needed to be handled from the beginning. The truth comes out no matter how long it seems to hide. Something extreme such as your job being on the line should have been investigated more and Lydia not having her credentials could have been established from the beginning and they could have made other arrangements to get them completed and at least she could have been working on it. It seems as if Matilda tried to use other tactics to hide her not having credentials such as giving her certificates that showed she completed the seminars, which is still not qualified enough. That seemed to be ethical wrong as well because as a leader Matilda was trying to cover up for Lydia until surveyors researched more into the situation.
In respecting Lydia’s confidentiality, it was difficult not to because it was putting other’s job on the line. As a professional, Lydia should not bring the stress of her personal life into her workplace. She needs to separate the two. Fernando can approach her credentials

In reviewing the case study of a thirty-year-old mother with four young children we can expect her annual costs for health care services to be exponential, and unfortunately health care costs are continually rising. Although this mother does not have any special health problems or any special health concerns for her children, there are many variables to account for on a yearly basis. It is important that she chooses the best health care option for her, and her family that isn 't going to become an imposition. This family has many options to consider, and many benefits that they can consider, in order to assure that health care does not become a burden, rather than an asset to keeping her family healthy.…

Special population is a term used to express a disadvantaged group.[where?] In health professions, special populations include those with disabilities, minors, and the elderly. Special populations often require accommodations for physical, mental or emotional differences. Their bodies may respond in a different manner to treatment or medication. For example, the small liver in a child means that he or she can 't take typical adult doses of medication. The same goes for an elderly person, whose decreased liver function similarly affects the processing of medication. ("Wikipedia", 2014).…

Saying no to things that make you uncomfortable is just as important in college as it was when you lived with your parents. Many students experiment with alcohol or sex during their college years, but if you don't want to do these things, don't let anyone pressure you into them. Your college experience should be about having fun, exploring who you are and preparing for your future via your classes--not about doing things you don't truly want to do.…

The difference between a working relationship and personal relationship is that a working relationship is different because of boundaries, professional codes of conduct, employer policies and procedures. in my working relationship I would be friendly have a different approach treat with equality I would know my role and responsibility I would not share personal information as I would with friends. Information has been obtained about the client, Wendy, by means of a one on one interview. The client/counselor relationship and trust was established prior to the onset of the dialogue. The client verbalized her consent to take part in the sexual history interview and was advised that at any time she felt uncomfortable the interview would be halted or the subject could be changed. The counselor explained to the client, that the exchange between them was fully confidential and she was in a safe and secure environment to share what she what she felt comfortable to share. The counselor explained that the only occasion in which she would be obligated to break confidentiality was in the event the client expressed a desire to harm herself or others. The client accepted the terms of the interview and the interview detailing her sexual history was obtained.…

I mentioned to the client that in this case I would be obliged to tell a 3rd party but I would tell her first. Any disclosure in client's confidences should be undertaken in ways that best protect the client's trust and respects client autonomy ( British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, 2011. p.2 )…

    Ethics Case Analysis

This case presents a very typical situation that people encounter while working in the corporate environment. What is ethical, what is morally correct and what is just right out against the law are the questions that we all face while working in a corporate environment. Some of the ethical questions are governed by the law facing the situation. For example while working in an investment bank you most probably have access to inside information about upcoming deals that one could possibly use for personal monetary gain or you could act as a tippie and possibly share that confidential information with others. This kind of a situation is definilety governed by the law and you can actually be charged with various insider trading laws and possibly do some jail time as well. The other situation that is presented in the case is purely about ones ethical and moral standards. The analyst either has to compromise her loyalty towards her company B&B or towards her best friend Lori. While the situation presented is not a real zero-sum game, i.e., one player’s loss does not equal to the gain of the other player. When faced in a situation like this one has to think about what decisions can be made that will have the least affect on the players involved. The analyst should not look at the situation she faces as black or white. She should rather think about other options she might have to retain her friend’s loyalty while not compromising her loyalty towards her current employer. For example, Lori has already been laid off by her current employer, Universal group. The Universal group has already broken certain ethical and moral laws by not informing about the situation to B&B. So can the analyst come up with a situation where she can get Lori immediately and legally hired at B&B and convince her to share the information with B&B. In essence Lori will not have to feel guilty about not keeping the information confidential as has been laid off and the…
