Using the goal setting model, evaluate Allstate’s goal setting process. Explain how it works.
Allstate provide their employees with a road map to succeed. They give them tools and resources to become a better employee. They have quarterly leadership measurements as well as the survey to get feedback from employees. Allstate focus on diversity, Four step process to reach their goals.
Step one: Succession Programming. They identified and developed candidates for each key position. Allstate’s management information system enables it to track and measure key drivers of career development and career opportunities for all of its employees, ensuring that the company’s future workforce will be diverse at all levels.
Step two: Development. Through the company’s employee development process, all employees receive an assessment of their current job skills and a road map for developing the critical skills necessary for advancement

Establishing term objectives are usually helpful to incorporating deadlines and measures. A Company that really wants to become successful needs to develop and implement goal-setting programs. This is important to be able to define business goals. Goals are contributors to the business growth in a different ways, forcing to develop a plan to follow and a framework within which to work. Always taking into consideration that goal has a timetable, and this will influence the actions profoundly and it is important to be specify, optimism, realistic and set short and long-term goals. With this action, management and organizations will be able to produce positive results, which are the primary task. The Allstate Company has provided its employees with an effective guide to succeed. Employees are offered the chance to better themselves and grow within the company. The company offers education and training as well as feedback from their employees. Allstate’s main focus is more on affirmative action and diversity awareness and the company took four steps to reach their goal settings.
1) Succession Programming: The company selects and develops key positions for candidates with the key drive of career development and opportunities. This ensuring that the company’s future workforce would be diverse at all levels.

Allstate is doing very well in their efforts towards the goal setting program. There are five conditions for effective goal setting. The first condition, discusses whether or not employees have the knowledge and ability to attain the goal that has been established. I believe Allstate has mastered this condition. Allstate has an assessment of current job skills, a roadmap for developing skills for advancement, educational training, coaching, and mentoring. This provides employees with a roadmap for developing critical skills necessary for advancement. This condition deals with the challenge, it provides goal difficulty, goal clarity, and self efficacy.

This case illustrates Allstate insurance company’s’ diversity strategy to improve performance. I will discuss Allstates’s goal setting process as it relates to the goal setting model and how the competitive advantage Allstate has from the development of their Diversity Index. I will also give my recommendation on the types of high-performance reward system Allstate should use to motivate its employees to reach their diversity goals, as well as give a detailed explanation on whether or not I would be motivated by the Diversity Index and QLMS.
