The Importance of having a code of conduct at Chipotle that will be followed by all employees on a daily basis.
In 1993 when Chipotle first opened their first store the idea was simple, to demonstrate that food served fast didn’t have to be a “fast-food” experience. Chipotle. (n.d.). Retrieved from http://ir.chipotle.com/ Now twenty years later, and more than 1,500 restaurants later the importance of having an effective Code of Conduct that reaches all levels of employees is imperative. There are key areas that are of significant importance to Chipotle including Integrity, Harassment, and Chipotle’s confidential information. There will be key steps that should be taken to ensure that all employees are following the Code of conduct. We will also engage in socially responsive activities in the community to promote a positive image in our neighborhoods that will ultimately reflect the success of the company. The code of conduct will be the stepping stones to our continued growth and success.
Chipotle is a company based on integrity and the code of ethics, a formal, written document that defines the ethical standards of the organization, and gives employees the information they need to make ethical decisions across a range of situations. (Kelly, McGowen, Williams 2014). Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching. These values will permeate the way we do, and do not do, business. This will ultimately pave the way for a successful and profitable business. When the entire company is operating on the same standards, it will be a better environment not only for each other but will also reflect to the customers coming to our establishment.
