The 30 year fixed mortgage loan seems to be one of the most popular loans people take out because people get to pay back the money over a stretched period of time. The interest rate on a fixed mortgage rate stays the same throughout the life of the loan. Each monthly payment is equal to the interest on the principal and some of the principal amount. Since some of the principal amount was paid off when the loan was taken out, the interest payment on the remaining principal will be a little less each month. The payment is the same each month so some the principal amount is paid off each month. This loan is so popular because of fixed interest rate and lower monthly payments; however because the term is so long, you will have to pay more interest. These rates have been up and down for months now, but on February 21, 2013, according to The Wall Street Journal, the 30-year mortgage rates were at 3.85%. The way these rates are measured is through percentages because it makes it easier to understand its changes. The periodicity of the 30-year mortgage loan rates happen on a daily basis.…

What does the word perfect mean? Well, according to the Webster Dictionary, it means “being entirely without fault or defect” and/or “corresponding to an ideal standard or abstract concept.” Many people strive to be perfect. Whether it is the perfect hair, the perfect group of friends, or the perfect body; people strive for a perfect life. But is a perfect life an achievable thing? Everyone has a different idea of perfection, therefore; it is impossible to find one that we can all agree on. But the media sure does give everyone an idea of what perfection really looks like. Women must be skinny with smooth skin and men have to be muscular with great hair. “These cultural messages feed the deepest insecurity in ourselves and encourage us to…

Perfection is the ultimate human desire- to be without flaw and to be the most ideal to survive through the world’s expectations and humanity’s role in civilization. Modern society upholds and promotes the idea of materialistic wealth, power, and social status as the ultimate goal to achieve in life, and that one would not be truly happy unless they accumulate all of these, yet a member of royalty who had married into such opulence and glamour like Diana, Princess of Wales who lived a life that “ended up being far from a fairy tale” as “her struggles culminated with her marriage to Prince Charles crumbling in the 1990s and her death in 1997” would say otherwise (Greenman). Society is so entrenched into imprinting these contradicting messages…

The Woodson Foundation, a large nonprofit social service agency is teaming up with the public school system in Washington D.C. to improve student outcomes. There’s ample room for improvement. The schools have problems with truancy, low student performance, and crime. New staff quickly burn out as their initial enthusiasm for helping students is blunted by the harsh realities they encounter in the classroom. Turnover among new teachers is very high, and many of the best and brightest are the most likely to leave for schools that aren’t as troubled.…

Everyone has his or her own masks to wear. Some people wear their masks by choice, other times it is just horrible fate that people end up with what they have. NOTHING is perfect. But, at the same time, perfection lies in the imperfect world. I know that sounds like a contradictory thing to say... but perfection is something to stumble upon. Our own hands cannot create it; it's something that the fates can only control. Embrace chaos before it bites you in the ass. That's my thought for the…

Perfection. It's more than just a universal truth. We believe in it. We crave it. We strive for it. It’s safe to say we basically breathe for it. But tell me, what is perfection? Each and every individual asked that question would have a greatly altered definition of their perception of perfection, ranging from personal appearance to success. It is a mere fact that depending on who you are, where you grew up, and what you're capable of, you are presented with different expectations on how you should live your life. You will always be expected to be the very best; to be perfect. It is quite understandable, even from an average person’s perspective, that along with being a well-known individual, certain expectations from the general public exist.…

    Pursuit Of Perfection

Perfection is often promised by world leaders, obviously it is never achieved. For example during the Chinese Civil War that brought Mao Zedong to power, he promised a new "perfect" China. It turns out that his "perfect" vision was murdering teachers, and low class citizens to "perfect" their population. The point being that, he corrupted this promise which was used to lure in dupes. The question "should we pursue perfection" was brought up, and to answer that I said we shouldn't. There will never be perfection, and that's just a fact that we all have to face. The world shouldn't pursue perfection, it could leave the world with no choices, everything would be the same, and it will be complete chaos.…

The society has set standards of what beauty should look like, whether it is through social media or advertising. There are different ways of defining perfection. However, perfection is hard to obtain because no one is perfect. There are some people who strive for perfection to overcome their insecurities and lack of self-esteem. According to Ursula Le Guin, she states “There are a whole lot of ways to be perfect, and not one of them is attained through punishment.” Although various people believe that physical perfection is not attained through punishment, Guin’s claim is disagreeable because one can gain a sense of satisfaction of accomplishing physical perfection, can gain approval from others, and can build up self-esteem.…

Perfection is one of the most sought-after qualities in society. People are willing to shell out large sums of money for dieting plans, training regimens, and plastic surgery – all in an attempt to be perfect, whether that means having a slim waist, a defined core, or a more attractive nose. However, nobody is flawless. Even if an individual alters their physical appearance to what they believe to be “perfect,” they will nonetheless have other, non-physical faults that will limit their ability to attain perfection. Nathaniel Hawthorne, a 19th century American writer, expressed his feelings about the attainability of perfection in his fiction.…
