Passion for the idea YAINGY
“It is estimated up to 5% of teenagers are diagnosed with depression.” (Wales Online, 2012). One article that we have read, suggests that we should look at the US for ideas for prevention strategies and effective early intervention. Summer camps are popular in the US, and we want to adapt this idea for Wales. We believe that the summer camp platform will allow us to be able to bring together our common bond group of children, and engage them in beneficial activities. Wales has high levels of childhood depression (Is this linked to social media, poverty, bullying etc.?)

Introduction of the business idea – scope etc. NIA
The group social business is aimed at all the children within our common bond*, with emphasis on those who cannot connect to or receive medical care for emotional problems depression and anxiety. Our summer camp will allow children between the ages of 11-16 to engage in activities and to allow them to express themselves freely, without interference from social media.
*To be eligible to access our Summer camp individuals will need to either live, work or go to school in Cardiff or the Vale of Glamorgan and be between the ages of 11 and 16.

Who are your customers? JEMU
Our customers are the parents who will be paying for the service; our users are our common bond children.
We have received a number of referrals from the NHS, for children that they feel would benefit more from our summer camp rather than medical intervention.
