1. The results of my assessment are partly what I expected. I know I want to go into the field of oil and gas and I does not matter how I get there. I may or may not change my major depending on how I do in my current major and do not plan on making any big career decision changes in the foreseeable future. I believe that I am on the right path, even if I may need to get some help to get where I want to go I do believe I will get there. I plan on taking over my family’s business so that gives me real drive to achieve what I want. Some academic and career goals of mine would be to make it through school with a degree that I want, and a career goal is to become successful and make my business a profitable business. I will measure my successful completion quite simply, for my academic goal its all about if I make it through school and as for my career goal I will measure my success my being able to provide for my family and give them everything that they need and be able to live comfortably. None of my goals have changed since my assessment results; I still want to go into oil and gas. My career path at the moment is taking over my family’s business and running it successfully. I will achieve this by passing my classes and making it through school. 2. According to my degree audit I am on the right track for my career. It is something that I am truly passionate about. As for the “what-if” portion of the degree audit I chose Energy Commerce, I chose it because it leads to the career that I want to have in the future. I am currently in Pre-Engineering and the other majors that I would also conceder taking would be Energy Commerce, and anything else concerning oil and gas. 3. My major is very much based on my values, goals and roles. Because I want to go into a family business my values have to be set on honesty, integrity, loyalty, and I have to be very trustworthy. My

I chose my degree based on my experiences living in a multicultural household (Slavic/American), completing various career classes, and visiting multiple countries. My goal is to participate in the Russian Flagship program and learn a third language--Arabic. I plan to apply these languages to my degree; my educational aspirations include obtaining a bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in international studies. This aspiration feeds off of my desire for travel. The struggle comes in figuring out if this is really what I would like to do. Other subjects that I have a keen interest in include: graphic design, architecture, neuroscience, music, etc. I hope that I will receive a mentor that can guide me in the right direction. Additionally, I aspire to…

Not all of my family members graduated from high school except my aunt and I look up to her. I know it will be hard because I’m not an A, B student. I’m just average but I can change that and I know I am capable to do that since my grades are looking a lot better than before which makes me super proud of myself. My short time goal for employment is to find one during the summer because I need to stop asking for money from my family, I feel needy, I want to make my own money, do my own thing.…

Well here I stand , with the accomplishment of at least half my personal goals . I finished high school , left the small town , attended college and received not one, but three degrees . The object of goal setting is to make sure the goals are attainable and realistic (Le, 2013). The personal goals I have set for myself are to complete the coursework and dissertation for this DBA program , by December 2016. In order to achieve these goals , I must do my best in the coursework assignments , work on becoming a better writer , and continue to stay focused and determined . According to Uttley (1998), “Long-term goals can be broken down into two parts . Conceptual, which are your wants and needs , and operational, which are the steps you take to meet those wants and needs (p. 2). The professional experience I have come from customer service within the retail industry and student financial services , within the twoyear college system . A part of me has always wanted to journey to the other side of things with the college system . Instead of dealing with students on a daily basis , I want to make the decisions that affect the college but benefit the students . I could be a Director of a department within the…
