Why I Want To Attend College Essay

Growing up i’ve had many goals and ambitions but the most important one has always been to attend college and get my degrees to make my parents proud. My parents did not have the opportunity that i now have, and i feel very lucky being the first one in my family that will go to college. My parents have always told me that getting a good education is very important and it’s why i’ve always wanted to go to college since I was younger. Growing up I actually wanted to become a teacher but then changed my mind when i started high school and learned that psychology was what I really wanted to do. My goal is to get my bachelor’s in psychology and then i will continue going to school to become a Clinical Psychologist and one day work in a mental health clinic helping people so they can overcome their mental illness. While in college I plan on doing many things. One of those things is studying abroad, going to another country to learn new things is something i also always wanted to do since I was younger because traveling to other countries is something i want to do and I know that studying abroad will teach me new things about other cultures and how life is in other parts of the world while learning new things about my major when doing research and
I also would like to save up money to pay for their college tuition so they won’t have to worry about how they’ll pay for it and graduate with debt the way I do because my parents don’t have the best jobs having to work hard to be able to buy the things we need and pay their bills.
