A situation where I showed grit and persevered was when I made the decision to attend college. College for me was a huge step towards my future. If I made a choice I wanted to stick with it, being in this situation made me question myself many times if I was making the right choice. Going to college made me feel that I was ready to take anything that came at me. Many people told me that college was challenging, but what they did not know is that I love challenges. I told myself maybe college is not for me, so I decided the change my thinking strategy. I made the habit of saying a positive statement after a negative statement. I want them to feel proud of raising me, proud of calling me their daughter, and happy for the choice I made. Yes, I wanted to go to college for my family, but also for myself.
