My mother at a very young age migrated from Mexico to look for what many call, “The American Dream.” It was impossible for her to adapt to a new way of living. To the point where she couldn’t even order a Hamburger from a drive-through because she felt helpless due to speech barriers. Therefore, I will overcome any obstacles that stand in my way, and break the cycle of education barriers, which have impacted me and my family for many years.
I want to obtain an Associate of Applied Science Degree for Computer support Technician. I also want to transfer to a Southern Oregon University and get my bachelor degree on Computer Science. When it was time to continue my education, my husband deprived me from going to college and I was not willing to surrender, so he left without saying a word. I am a single parent of two children Andres and Regina and I would like to be a positive role model for them. The person that I am now is a woman of courage, dedication, commitment, and responsibility. I will demonstrate to my children that college is a standard chapter of life.
