I'd always knew I would go to college in some form. My parents drilled that into my head. "You have to go to college to get a good paying job," my dad would say. Or "A future husband wants a women who's educated," as my mom would say. However it wasn’t till the beginning of senior year that someone finally asked me why do you want to go to college? If anything my dad's absence over my teenage years has made me a stronger person. I have consistently held a job since the day I turned 16. Having a job throughout high school has been one of my biggest struggles. Being able to find the perfect balance between work and school took me along time. There were points where I took on more than I could handle which is one of my weaknesses. I believe I can do everything when in reality I can not. Over the three years that I have maintained a job I have been able to realize that my school work and involvement comes first and what time I have left goes to working. Finally finding that balance has made me a stronger individual person.
