The modernization shapes every generation, and in every generation there is improvement in communication because of the advent of technology, but, “I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots” by Albert Einstein. Can really technologies make human become idiot? Actually, people become more creative in molding the thing that was invented before such as cellphones or mobile phones. As recent study in year of 2009 and 2018, the mobile phones was invented in the year of 1940s when the engineers works in AT&T that developed cells for mobiles phone base station. Indeed, the very first mobile phones are not a mobile phone at all, because it was invented as two-way radios that allowed …show more content…
Studies shows that 13 years and above are more appropriate age to start having cellphones. With these age, they are expected to be in secondary school level or in K to 12 called grade 7 to grade 12 which seems to be good for them to have cellphones. Teenagers are more trustworthy to handle cellphones because they are more efficient to handle and understand the do’s and don’ts properly the influence of the social media. They are more mature to know the legit and fake information. Cellphones are more important for them than children age under 12 especially when it comes to applying for the jobs. Teenager cannot be able to play as what the children do so cellphones helps them to take away the boredom and reduce stress. Base on the survey, in the year of 2013 there are 37% of teenager have cellphones, as of now it’s increased to 91%. However, the rate of cyberbullying also continuous to increase, 53% of teenager are victim of cyberbullying as well as the rate of depression among teenager are skyrocketed since the year or 2011. Teenager nowadays are prone to depression and suicidal, because this is the age where they will deeply feel the emotional intense made by the surrounded stressors. Teenager nowadays are very excellent in seeking news and information, however sometimes they cannot handle the situation when it bothers them by internalizing it and reflect it to themselves that adds to their burden of stressors which may cause of depression. Cellphones can be their friends, but it can be the barrier for them to improve their social life and relationship with others especially to their family which may feel them lonely and excluded that may cause of
