For example, “70 000 pregnant women (are) at risk of unsafe deliveries because life-saving health services are becoming too expensive for many” (Gornall, 2015, p. 1) If Canada took in Syrian refugees the risk of these women would go down immensely; Canada would be giving oppurtunity for more safe prenatal, birth, and postnatal health and wellbeing. Due to of the lack of medical help and knowledge “more than 142 000 Syrian children have been born refugees since the start of the crisis in 2011, but it is not known how many others have died because of lack of medical help or whether maternal or infant mortality among refugees is going up” (Gornall, 2015, p. 1). Other issues to look at are long term health concerns, most funding has been put into emergency cases, there is no money being given for long term care for different diseases like diabetes, and cancer (Gornall, 2015, p. 2). Canada has lots of medical tools, and equipment that could help those with long term health
