Capital Panishment

Capital punishment became a controversial issue lately, and it is a big debate in the world. The debate of capital punishment has two sides: the people who argue in favour of capital punishment and the people who argue against capital punishment. The most compelling arguments against capital punishment can be made on the basis of it doesn’t reduce crime, risks executions of innocent people, inflicted disproportionately on the poor and targeting people of colour (racist), persons who commit vicious crimes have often suffered from neglect, violence, cruelty, lack of love, and a host of destructive social conditions.
Proponents of the death penalty say it is an important tool for preserving law and order, make our society a safe place, deters crime, and costs less than life imprisonment, retribution or "an eye for an eye" honours the victim, and ensures that the perpetrators of heinous crimes never have an opportunity to cause future tragedy. A majority of a state 's subjects may wish to confer the right to put certain classes of criminal to death through referendum or voting in state elections for candidates favouring capital punishment. Majority opinion in some democratic countries, including the N.Z. is still in favour of the death penalty. Let us examine the merits of both the pro and anti arguments.
The Pros are for the death penalty stands for to make our society a safe place. Then the cons are against the use of this method stating that there is other ways to make a safe society for us to live in that does not use this type of extreme violence. The cons look at the death penalty and why they are against the use of capital punishment to make a safe society for us to live in. This is because that they believe that there are numerous ways that do not involve the use of violence to create a non violent society in which we can be safe.
