Summary

This test plan document will describe the testing activities to be conducted as part of the Capstone Healthcare Modernization project at Capstone Healthcare.

* Application compatibility with Microsoft Windows 7 * The validity of hands free application installation packages created by the team * The migration of user data and settings * The base Windows 7 images * The deployment process itself

Objectives

The following objectives apply to the Capstone Healthcare project:

* To identify the activities required to prepare for and conduct testing * To define the test scope, strategy, and methodology to be used for the test * To identify configuration controls and metrics * To define metrics and status reporting * To identify responsibilities for the tasks included in the plan * To define the test tools and the environment needed to conduct the test * To identify test interactions with other organizations * To identify test customers and deliverables * To identify the major testing milestones * To define the sources of information used to prepare the plan

Test Approach and Assumptions

Most of the testing for the Capstone Healthcare project will be conducted at a high level. Much of what needs to be tested is Commercial software such as Windows 7, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project. The Capstone Healthcare project assumes the application vendor has tested these applications prior to selling them. CEN-TEX Networking Solutions will not focus on testing every feature and function of Windows and applications. Instead, it will focus on installation, configuration, and basic functionality testing.

Major Test Responsibilities

Most of the project’s testing will be conducted by the Quality Assurance (QA) team within CEN-TEX Networking Solutions. The team is responsible for signing off on the finished images, the deployment process, and
