Career
Finding a career inspiration is a matter of thinking like a child. Inspiration will always be around oneself, but first, one has to let that child’s imagination come out and play. In order to find the right career for oneself, one must examine her self-evaluation of her interests. One must examine her abilities and values. With all the positions to choose from, many people have a difficult time deciding which career path to take.
There are many resources nowadays to help us decide our interests, skills, and our work values. I took all three of the assessments on Kuder and they all say something different, but accounting appears on two of the three scores. I have always loved math so I know I’d like being an accountant. Business finance also is on two of the three score reports.
I don’t want to just do one thing I love I want to do two things I love. When I sat down and really thought about it childcare and business is what I wanted to do, but how do those things go together? Well my career goal is to own my own daycare so that way I can take my love for children and my love for business and combine them.
On Kuder, one of my work values was the work place and if I own my own daycare I will be able to control the environment. I won’t have my boss breathing down my back because I will be my own boss. I will be able to make the workplace comfortable and attractive for me and my employees. On another assessment, the skills one, human resource management was listed as something I’m skilled at. I should be able to find good employees that will help me achieve my goal of owning a successful childcare facility.
Another source to help make your career choice easier is career websites. The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that there will be 25% growth in the next ten years for preschool and daycare jobs which is faster than average. Also, on average preschool teachers make 25,700 per year. So if I own my own childcare place than I will make a lot more money, which it’s

Nearly twenty years ago I was one of the only ‘stay at home moms’ in my neighborhood. I began to be asked by friends and neighbors to watch their children, so after my third child was born I had my home licensed as a large family day care. I qualified for the larger capacity license because of the many years of volunteer experience working in my children’s classrooms and teaching Sunday school. While working as a home daycare provider I decided I wanted to someday be able to teach preschool or have a childcare center outside my home. I researched the requirements and discovered that I had a long road ahead of me. The first step was to get…

Public schools now expect children to have more skills conquered when they enter kindergarten. Such skills as knowing the alphabet, numbers, shapes and colors are now taught pre-kindergarten.
