Konosuke Matsushita Research Project
Introduction
Among many Japanese industrialists, Konosuke Matsushita likes a monument with no doubt. He not only founded the great company, Panasonic, but also gave the world much easy understanding management philosophy. From starting being an apprentice when he was a teenager, Konosuke worked very hard and walked out his own business road. (Wu, 2007)There are so many successful industrialists, but there are so little people who can abstract his own philosophy even the people who can be described as god level. In modern Japanese industry, there are four people can be treated as four top industrialists, they are Akio Morita, the founder of SONY, Soichiro Honda, the founder of Honda, Kazuo Inamori, the founder of Kyocera Corporation and Konosuke Matsushita. Among those four people, Konosuku Matsushita is called as “the god of management”. He founded tap water philosophy, Dam Operation, Glass Operation for his three main management method.
Konosuke Matsushita’s greatest achievement is that he uses his hands creating a myth, Panasonic and he makes a big contribution to the society. He founded Matsushita Institute of Government and Management, and Peace and Happiness through Prosperity Institute because he thought it would be good for the future. All of his contribution to the society make the people like and admire him. He stands for the spirit of Japanese business.
In this project, I will give a brief summary of Konosuke Matsushita’s career. Then I will introduce his leadership traits and leadership behaviors. Finally I will talk about if he applied to the hospitality industry.
A Brief Summary of Konsuke Matsushita’s Career

    Firstly, Alejandro’s team members did not view him as an authentic leader. They had no respect for or confidence in him probably because they sensed his self doubt so they disregarded his plan and did not pay attention. Secondly, Dan answered his phone and left for his weekly tennis game which everyone seemed to know about except Alejandro. As soon as the other team members saw that Dan wasn’t interested enough to participate in the meeting, they also lost all interest and followed through with the disrespect because they viewed Alejandro’s plan as just another idea so they began to come up with a plan of their own.     Schmidt, a South Carolina citizen, sued Wachovia Bank in a South Carolina state court for fraudulently inducing him to participate in an illegal tax shelter. Wachovia is a national bank with its main office in North Carolina and branch offices in several other states, including South Carolina. Under federal diversity jurisdiction, federal courts can hear cases in which the parties are citizens of different states. Wachovia filed a petition in Federal District Court, seeking to compel arbitration of the dispute. After the petition was denied on the merits, Wachovia appealed to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, which dismissed the case for lack of jurisdiction. Under 28 U.S.C. Section 1348, national banks are "deemed citizens of the States in which they are respectively located."
