Case Analysis: Cardiac Critical Care
Crystal Jack has been the Administrative Director of Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine since 2010. In this role, she has operational oversight for all service lines in the Division of Anesthesiology including Operating Rooms, Ambulatory Surgical Center, Cardiac Anesthesiology, Pain Management and Palliative Care programs respectively. In the Division of Critical Care Medicine, she oversees the Cardiac Critical Care Unit and the Pediatric Critical Care Unit, as well as the Procedural Sedation Unit.

In 2013, She developed the business plan and executed the implementation of a premier Procedural Sedation Unit which serves the needs of patients across all areas of the hospital, helps sustain the hospital’s top national rank, and reduces the average patient length of stay by

Over the past five years, she has negotiated contracts with City of Hope and Huntington Hospital to provide Critical Care Services on their campuses. Most recently she has collaborated with Administration to provide PICU coverage at Tarzana Providence Health System. For Anesthesiology, she has secured contracts with All Saints Hospital for Pain Management and Kaiser Permanente for Palliative Care. As of today, the department has over 250 trainees, two ACGME Fellowship programs, as well as a Cardiac Fellowship (est. 2012), Palliative Fellowship (est. 2015), and a Pain Fellowship (est.2011).

She received her Fellowship in Healthcare Management from the American College of Healthcare Executives in 2014. She has a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and has served as an Adjunct Professor of Communications at California University Channel
