Case Study: Crudeoil
1. The environment of an organization and how they conduct theirselves is called organizational or corporate culture. Performance is built from a positive culture through motivating and engaging. The board of directors brought in a new manager, Jim Stone, because of his reputation for achieving results. As he kept up his reputation, he created a hostile and intimidating work environment for the employees. He was an aggressive man that lacked morals and ethics. He was only concerned with keeping his impeccable reputation in achieving results.

2. CrudeOil is violating its core values of treating others with respect by allowing Jim’s managing style to carry on by treating their employees in harsh and unethical ways. Conducting meetings on leadership and going over their policies regarding morals and ethics is a way CrudeOil could reincorporate this core value of respect back into its organizational culture.

Madison cannot take her problem to her immediate supervisor because it is Jim. She needs to handle the situation by first talking with her HR department and see if the matter can be resolved at that level. If not, she needs to gather witnesses if she can and she could file a harassment
