Case Study: Finnair
Finnair was founded in 1923 with its main seat in Helsinki. This makes it the fifth oldest airline company in the world, and with no fatal accidents since 1963, makes Finnair the third safest airline in the world. With 9,6 million carried passengers in 2014. Finnair is the nineteenth largest airline company in Europe. Furthermore Finnair is a four star company on the skytrax air travel rating which means, its better rated than more known companies in Denmark like SAS and Norwegian which are three stars companies.

As Finnair mentioned in their vision, they want to be the number one airline in the Nordic countries and be the most desired option in the Asian traffic. This can be seen on Finnairs very aggressive route openings. Since 2012 Finnair

Also it is interesting for the company to know which geographical area the potential costumers are from. This can be done at the beginning of the website where you can choose your country and the language you wish the website to be in. This can give the company a clue where the visitors are from.
When looking at Finnair.com the page looks like any other airline.
All the usual information about offers, flights, destinations, etc. and the whole white, blue and green color that meets you makes the site look very simple and easy to use.

I compared the site to other airline websites and though every website look very similar to each other, of course different company colors, different layout and different order in the menu bar, but the main difference was that in SAS, Norwegian, Thai airways, (just to mention some of the airlines that fly to Asia) their start page starts with a box where you can write, from where, to where and dates.
