In this interview, I think that Ann Nyberg did a very good job while interviewing Amy. First, she had done a thoroughly background research before conducting the interview with Amy. Not only that, she also had the questions that she would like to ask Amy prepared beforehand. She had a list of questions written in a piece of paper in front of her. Firstly, I felt that Ann asked too much open-ended questions. It is important to find out what happened to Amy but Ann chose the wrong way to approach. Secondly, even though, Ann had a list of questions prepared that she would like to cover but there are time where she just throw out all questions at once without giving Amy the time to answer. Amy did not manage to answer her first question and Ann already proceed to ask the second question. This caused both of them to talk at the same time but nothing can be heard. Next, Ann did not give Amy space and time to think where she kept asking the questions so that there will not be any silences during the interview. I understand that it is important to keep the interview process goes smoothly but sometimes, when dealing with sensitive subjects, the interviewer need to pause and wait too. Just a simple open-ended question will allows you to find out a lot of things. Additionally, I felt that Ann is a little too obsessed in finding out every little detail of what happened to Amy. She constantly asked “What happened next?” instead she can approach the same question in a different way so that it would not look annoying to the interviewee. Lastly, I think that it is important to capture how people talk. For example, Ann can captures one or two quotes used by Amy to illuminate the situation the interview is
