Tim Wilson, a technology- integration specialist from a high school in Minnesota asked “how do we communicate with students today who have grown up with technology from the beginning?” (Source B). The answer is astoundingly simple. Talk to us. Speaking to each other will always be the best form of communication possible- and it’s free. It is up to teachers to engage their students, and present information in creative ways. Limited technology could be useful, and prepare kids for the adult world, though the focus in classrooms should always be the teachers, so that students learn respect and can lengthen their attention span.…

Every year it seems like companies come out with bigger and better cell phones, computers, cars, and iPods. Just when you thought you had the best, something better comes out. This is because technology has advanced since past generations. As the future generation, we have the role of creating bigger and better things. Since technology is advancing, our education also has to advance. Our grandparent’s idea of a computer was a lead pencil and a notebook. In the future our school list is going to consist of laptops. My generation is so much more complex. We have to learn how to use new technology, otherwise it is pointless. Our minds and thinking have to be able to…

“I cannot imagine how I would live without it.” These are the words uttered by countless teenagers and adults about the technology they use to enhance their daily lives. Writing notes and remembering information for the next day is long forgotten. Reading encyclopedias and using books for research papers seems nonexistent. Simple technological advancements have changed how people view the world. As a child of a modern age, technology has become an integral part of my everyday life. Advances in technology cause great controversy. These controversies are centered around the influences technology has on the people who engage in different types of technology. In the article titled “Out Semi-Literate Youth? Not So Fast” by Andrea Lunsford, she explains the importance of technology and how, in most cases, technology is able to help develop students. In another article titled “Hal and Me” by Nicholas Carr, he stresses the point that technology is pushing ‘the good life’ to the wayside. Although both authors have different opinions when it comes to technology, they both agree that changes are occurring due to technological influences on peoples’ brains. Technology plays an extremely large role in the lives of the people in this world, it is important that everyone understands that changes that come with the advances of technology.…

Every year that slips by, the idea of a student reading an encyclopedia instead of using a known search engine with a few clicks of a finger becomes less and less familiar. Every hour that drains away, a website is being made to replace older methods of getting things done. From writing research papers to playing games with friends, almost everything created or updated in the last 10 to 15 years is increasingly being aimed at the technologically inclined. Although a vast majority of the newest generation, the millennial age, would protest if you titled them as anything but intellectually superior, it is bluntly obvious how technological advances over the years have tainted their perception, influencing the outcome of their future in a negative manner.…
