In addition, Taren struggles with working memory demands as well as the inability to break down large tasks. Given all of these deficits, it is ideal to simplify all directions for Taren as it will decrease the demands put on her. Specifically, if the directions are simpler, Taren will be able to recall the directions easier; therefore, accommodating for her issues with working memory demands. These groups can change depending on the progress or deficits of each student. In the classroom, Taren demonstrates challenges with self-esteem, social problem solving, and communication. Working with an assigned group of students with similar abilities would help Taren branch out of her comfort zone in a way that in more manageable and not overwhelming. Since it is comprised of individuals with the same level of academic ability, Taren would be able to showcase her social strengths as well as develop a relationship and form meaningful connections with peers at a similar academic level. In turn, this would enhance her self-esteem and increase communication and social problem solving.
