From an ethical standpoint, having a positive reputation goes along with one of TecFite’s core values, which is to be involved with the community. Without a good reputation or repour, TechFite would not be able to establish a connection with the community. There are a few areas where TechFite has tarnished its reputation. The first is in ineffective budgeting that has resulted in employee’s hours being reduced to part time and excess bonuses payed to executives. What must be done first, is a revision on the number of bonuses executives receive. Currently, top executives are getting unnecessary bonuses that are taking away hours and benefits from lower level employees. Cutting these excess bonuses would be ethically responsible because lower level employees would now receive their deserved pay and benefits. This solution is also socially responsible because the lower level employees are part of the community that surrounds TechFite. By supporting these employees, they are also building a better reputation in the community. When it comes to environmental responsibility, this action makes TechFite’s budget more effective, so it can use its resources more responsibly without having to cut corners that might jeopardize the environment. The second action resolves the issue of failing to fund community events and programs, by assigning task groups that secure funding for events and that create community programs. Ethically, this action positively effects the company’s culture by getting TechFite employees more involved in the community and giving back. It is socially responsible because these events and programs coming to fruition strengthen the community and its economy.
