Casey Anthony
When looking at the death of Kallie Anthony, there is so much that is unknown about the actual events that lead to the loss of her life. The child’s grandmother stated to law enforcement that she and her husband had not seen the child in weeks and that their daughter Casey Anthony, the child’s mother, and told them lies on the location of the child (Battaglia, 2012). We see that at this time in the chain of events that Casey Anthony was attempting to mislead her parents of the location of her daughter Kallie, the lies told at this time were a choice made by Casey (Williams & Arrigo, 2012). We see that at this point and time in the chain of events that Casey should have chosen to have told the truth of what happened to her daughter.When law enforcement officers arrived to discuss the missing child and started an investigation

in the where the child was Casey told them that the child had been taken by the babysitter that she had left Kallie with (Battaglia, 2012). This action of telling law enforcement a lie of what created the events of the missing child led to a delay in the investigation an action that Casey created (Williams & Arrigo, 2012).
We also see in this case that the mother of Kallie Anthony attempted to place the blame for the child’s death at trial as an accident that occurred while the child was swinging, and her grandfather disposing of the child’s body (Battaglia, 2012). There was also claims from the defense team that Casey Anthony’s father sexually assaulted her as a child (Battaglia, 2012). These actions of placing blame onto her father was also a choice made by Casey Anthony to put blame of the death of the child elsewhere and to show that she was not the only person in her family with a checkered past.
The lack of care that was given to Kallie Anthony led to the criminal conviction of child abuse/neglect of Casey Anthony, but the evidence did not support a criminal conviction for Casey Anthony for the death of her daughter Kallie (Battaglia, 2012).
With the child abuse/neglect proven in the court of law, we see that the actions taken by Casey prove that she made poor choices as a mother in the care of her child (Williams & Arrigo, 2012). There was a question about the stability of Casey with her mental health that could have led her to not only abuse/neglect her child, but also to murder her child, and attempt to make claims of sexual assault by her father (Williams & Arrigo, 2012). The jury in the case heard all of the evidence first hand and was also able to have the environment of the trial with them during the process of the trial. I think that the jury was in the best place to determine guilt or innocents in this case. The jury found Casey Anthony not guilty to the death of her daughter, and I must trust in them to have the judgment to the detriment that guilt. I do not think that guilt was proven that Casey killed her daughter
