Cassius Is Envious
Cassius, the main conspirator against Caesar, is an envious man, especially towards Caesar. While Cassius is speaking to Casca about Caesar he proclaims, “I know where I will wear this dagger then./Cassius from bondage will deliver Cassius” (I, III, - ). This means that Cassius would kill himself to save himself from the slavery that Caesar will bring when he’s given full power. This indicates that Cassius craves the power that Caesar holds. It can also be inferred as the main reason he wants to assassinate Caesar. Cassius is jealous of Caesar’s power and wants Caesar dead so that he can hold it all himself.
