Zyklon B was a killer gas that destroyed the lives of thousands. It was used in many death camps such as Auschwitz. When these innocent Jews were told that they were going to a concentration camp, their hopes might have raised and they may have felt once again they may be free after the war. If they did not feel that they would be free after the war they may have felt that they might at least be within the comfort of their families. Most of the Jews brought to the concentration camp that were weak or unable to work were sent to the “showers.” Men, women, children, and babies were sent into these gas chambers (showers) to be put to death.
Zyklon B was used for more than just the mass murder of Jews. It was used as a pesticide to get rid of tiny rodents like mice and rats. Zyklon B was also used for disinfection on ships. They tricked the Jews into thinking they were depart to get a satisfying clean shower, when really it would be the last time they ever saw their families again. The makers and manufacturers of Zyklon B knew they were up to no good and yet, they kept doing making the product even though they knew it was wrong. Society sucks us in just like how Hitler convinced thousands of people to believe that Jews were bad. Deciding to do the right thing can be difficult, but it is always worth doing the right thing no matter whatever the consequence. Even if something horrible awaits us.
