Acid Rain
Acid rain is a rain or any other form of precipitation that unusually acidic, meaning that the level of pH is below 7. Acid rains can happen due to the emission of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide, which it reach to water molecules in the atmosphere to form acids. Acid rain is resulting from natural phenomena, and human activities, which has a bad affected to the surface water and aquatic animals- the animal that live in the water-soils, forests and other vegetation, and it cause the damage to the building, as well as to human health.
Due to the natural phenomena, the contributor of acid-producing gases into the atmosphere is the emissions from volcanoes. Gases emissions from volcanoes are natural contributor to acid rain because while the volcanoes erupted the most abundant volcanic gases are sulfur dioxide (SO2) and carbon dioxide (CO2), which are the emission of sulfur dioxide are converting to sulfuric acid that lead to acid rain.
In addition to natural phenomena, human activities also play a role in a cause of acid rain. At the same time, the principal causes of acid rain are sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO), and carbon dioxide (CO2) compounds from human sources, such as electricity generator, factories, and emission from the vehicles. Especially, the electrical powers that are utilizing coal, is one of the greatest producing gases pollution, which responsible for the acid rain. For example, in 2006 the coal-fired Gavin Power plant in Cheshire, Ohio had been produced SO2 emissions of 24,787 tons, and NO emission of 33,960 ton, and CO2 emission of 16,997,449 ton (SourceWatch, 24).
However, according to the new researcher have shown that acid rain has been cause many impacts to freshwaters and aquatic life forms, soil,
