Cheating in School Students have been cheating for many of years. Cheating is a major problem in schools everywhere. Almost every single student has cheated in some way or will have cheated. Cheating in school can cause lack of learning. Cheating can also affect other students and other students can also cause a student to cheat.
Cheating most occur in students who lack an effort in studying. Most students have adapted to cheating. Some students see cheating as good grades with less work involved. Cheating is seen as taking the easy way out and not working hard. Without others to depend on, cheaters will have no hope on passing a class. A student may get a good grade, but they gain nothing form cheating. On the other hand, there are students that deceive some cheaters. For example, a student may give a cheater the wrong answers on a test on purpose. By putting their grade in another student’s hands, that student can do whatever they want with the cheater’s grade. In addition, that person can decide whether to actually help the cheater or not. That is why it is best for a student to do their own work and obtain their own knowledge. If a student never gains any knowledge, he or she will never succeed in life.
Students who cheat can ruin other student's grades as well. There are those students who actually study and can complete their assignments by themselves. Those are the students who are asked by others to cheat. A student may constantly ask another student to help them cheat or promise them something in reward. I have had a similar situation in Spanish class. One of my friends asked me during a test to help them. I decided to go ahead and give them a little help. As a result, I got caught by my teacher. I ended up with zero as a test grade. In addition, my grades were not as high as I wanted. Others students may be forced into doing others work. There are also students who decline on

Students have lost confidence in themselves and are now being walked over by others. I hear common stories from my classmates about how someone cheated off of their homework or test, but they don’t want to say anything to the teachers. They have allowed themselves to assume the role of the pushover. The cheaters in this situation are sometimes talked into it by their friends. They are told the only way to pass a teachers class is to cheat, or that “it’s only homework,” or the classic, “a class that cheats together, passes together.” By encouraging my friends to always reject those trying to use them for answers, there has been a decrease in cheating in our classes. If students across the country were the ones to go out and preach not cheating, our society would be much better off. Instead of saying, “a class that cheats together, passes together,” students should be saying, “a class that stays together, goes to the unemployment office together.” The habit of cheating and following the crowd in school will follow students into their future endeavors. Students have failed to make the connection between their actions now and their lives down the line. Though they may get a passing grade now, students are depriving themselves of knowledge the will need to be successful in the long run. For these reasons, it is necessary to encourage students to speak out against cheating. Doing so would…

First of all, kids will copy off other students in order to complete their work on time. They will be rewarded for something that doesn’t benefit them. Cheating doesn’t help students remember the topic, because they are just copying it down, and not actually practicing it, which is the whole point of homework in the first place. Secondly, students will start to cheat on homework because as they get older all of the pressure to succeed grows, they need to help a friend who is also struggling, or they are just so confused because the topic didn’t stick with them when they got home. This shows that kids will start to cheat because they don’t understand the topic and there’s a lot of pressure to get it all done. The fact that kids feel the need to actually cheat is really bad, because cheating can result in very harsh punishments. Another example is Jennifer O’Donnell from the website Verywell says, “It's possible that a child cheats simply because he or she doesn't understand the subject matter, and is afraid to ask for help or admit confusion. These kids may embarrass easily, and they may cheat simply because they don't want to draw attention to themselves for failing to comprehend the material.” A lot of kids feel scared to turn in their homework the next day because it’s all wrong, and they’ll think that the teacher will think that they are dumb, even if they’re…

Ever since there have been exams to cheat on, papers to copy, and homework to be copied. More and more, faculty is trying to understand why students cheat, and how to combat cheating. In our societies today we always face the stress of being better. I believe academic cheating is a response to that stress. Ideally, the study environment should be designed according to the student’s individual capabilities and strengths. However, as Marilyn French (1985:387) once put it into words “Only extraordinary education is concerned with learning; most is concerned with achieving: and for young minds, these two are very nearly opposite.”.…
