There are many causes and effects for World Hunger. One cause of world hunger is the political condition. Another cause for world hunger is the economic conditions. World hunger is also cause by the environmental conditions. Whenever, there is a war the food production actually stops and so does the marketing. The food supplies are often given to the soldiers during a war and the children actually suffer from health issues as a result of the lack of food that they receive. A war also causes funds to be taken away from education and health care. Most people that are hungry do not make enough money to purchase food for their families that they need. The most food-insecure people live in Africa. While the largest number of undernourished people lives in the Asia-Pacific region, hunger is severe in South Asia, where debt¸ war, fast population growth, and the government collapse have all helped the continent’s food problem. In the United States we are facing hunger because of the poor economic conditions. We are using too much fresh water, land, and forests that they are actually losing their resources. Two effects that cause world hunger are the cost of living, and the wealth divide. World hunger is mainly affected by the cost of living. Even though, people are earning what was once a fair salary, they may not be able to afford basic needs due to drastic increases in prices of food, utilities, or medical bills. The gap between the worlds’s wealthy and the world’s poor has also continued to steadily increase. As more and more people are pushed towards poverty in this increasing divide¸ they may also face the challenges that accompany poverty, such as hunger. Here are some examples of different charities that support world hunger. One charity that supports world hunger is “Action against Hunger,” what they do is a lifesaving program that helps in nutrition, food security and livelihoods, and water, sanitation and hygiene.
