those gift cards. After the employee walked away they put some of them back and only took four of them.
They left the store walking towards the J. C. Penney's parking lot. I got in my mark police cruiser and drove over into that area. While I was turning around after passing a Van they had gotten into, they pulled off. I began to follow that vehicle a blue Dodge Caravan bearing Maryland registration plate (2BW8256). Once that vehicle turned onto Landover Road, the vehicle continue on that roadway in the right lane and it appeared they were going to attempt to exit onto the Capitol Beltway. The driver F-1 later identified as (Alexis Murray) switch lanes at the last minute crossing over a solid white line to get back onto Landover Road. Since that was a moving violation, I initiated a traffic stop at Landover Road and the Beltway. Once I made contact with the driver (F-1) I asked her if I could see her driver's license. She advised me she didn't have one or any I.D on her. I requested for a back up unit and asked for her car keys.
F-2 didn't have any I.D.
and A-1 handed me his Maryland I.D. card and once my back up unit arrived I had all of the occupants to exited from the vehicle. A warrant check was requested through communications and the return reveal that A-1 had three open warrants through Fairfax County Virginia Police for fraud. F-2 didn't have any open warrants and F-1 didn't have a valid license through Maryland. Inside the vehicle there were several other bags of groceries that weren't from Wegman's. There were several bags from Home Goods and a big bag of clothes from Marshalls and three purse. When I conducted a search inside the vehicle several gift cards were found every where in the vehicle. The gift cards were taken for further investigation for evidence. A-1 was placed under arrest and F-1 was issue two traffic citations and release with F-2 from the scene. A-1 was transported to Upper Marlboro Department of Corrections. The vehicle was impounded by Ryon's Towing, teletype notified and since the items in the vehicle had a value over $500.00, they were removed from the vehicle and taken to the police station for safe
keepings.
