In the article The Impact Celebrities Have On Our Lives Barbara King states in paragraph six that the reason we watch celebrities is to watch them lose talent and become unwanted in our eyes, and I disagree with the comment that she made, this reminds me of the time my friend wanted my cousin to die out of his baseball talent and fail. Often times, it seems as if my friend and cousin are fighting, my friend and cousin are on the same baseball team and they would always yell rude comments at each other when one struck out, etc. I asked my friend at school why they were so mean to each other, to which he responded that he was angry that my cousin was better than him. However, it turns out that my friend looks up to my cousin and is determined
to be like him. My cousin may have some haters, but he also has admirers. I learned that celebrities will not always be hated by everyone, they will also be loved by someone, someone out in the world will love a celebrity that has a bad influence. In addition, not all people want celebrities to fall, celebrities with a positive influence will keep on being encouraged to stay that way. In conclusion, not all people watch celebrities in order to watch them fall. Some people watch celebrities in order to be just like them. For instance, my cousin was not a bad influence on my friend, it just made my friend want to try to be a better baseball player. My friend still plays with my cousin and he still continues to push my friend to the top.
