Heroes Are Not True Heroes
Should we admire heroes but not celebrities ? Arthur Ashe in Worth Repeating once said , " Heroes have the urge to serve others at whatever cost . So these people can easily acquire respect . Celebrities are other group of people who can be easily known by people . Many people believe celebrities are not as good as heroes , because there are so many different kinds of celebrities and some of them are known for their bad behaviors . In my opinion , those notorious people are not real celebrities . People should admire both heroes and celebrities . The action of Nicholas James Vujicic who has a strong will is a good example that demonstrates that celebrities also deserve to gain admiration . Although Gates is a celebrity , he behaves just like a hero for saving so many people with donating money . This kind of people also deserves to acquire others ' admiration . The action of Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the early 1320s was another compelling example that shows that we should admire celebrities . Roosevelt was elected President of the United States in 1932 . At that time , the whole nation was under the shadow of the Great Depression . He tried hard to save American citizens from their emotional desperation and issued a serious of policies to stamp out economy crisis . Under his leadership , the government successfully took effective measures to live through this crisis

Heroes aren’t brave because they have no fear, but because they are willing to overcome that fear. The denotation of courage is ‘the ability to do something that frightens one.’ A hero doesn’t display courage if he isn’t fearful of his circumstances or the actions he must take. The triumph over fear, overcoming something hard, dangerous, or frightening, is what shows bravery. Willingly going against fear-no matter how big it is-to rescue, save, or bring justice, is heroic. The former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela, once said, “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” A cowardice may seem to have the simple way out, being subject to backing out and not having to face difficult situations, however, the act of bravery bears more fruit in character. While a coward reaps nothing more than a failure mentality, a hero-someone brave- overcomes fear and grows a mentality of endurance. After shying away from trials, a coward sees that he can’t do strenuous work (or won’t) and doesn’t try again, but a brave man sees that he can overcome hard things and is encouraged to jump over more hurdles.…

In the article “The Impact Celebrities Have On Our Lives”, Deborah King explains that celebrities can both positive and negative impact on people, and I agree because some celebrities are bad influences to us most especially younger people, but other celebrities are good role models and bring a positive impact on people. Often times on celebrity news shows, they talk about bad things that celebrities have done like cheating on someone else, or even worse like doing drugs or assaulting someone, but I have also seen celebrities being good role models when they donate the money they win on some game show to a charity of their choice or by raising awareness for something like bullying. This demonstrates that some of your favorite celebrities may…

The common look of comic book characters is that the heroes are good and the villains are evil. Although the batman is portrayed as a hero many of people would see him as a villain just as the joker, even though the joker is the antagonist the joker and batman walk in the same shoes but decided to be on different sides. by this I mean the joker kills for pleasure but batman also kills for revenge which is still wrong although Batman uses this for a reason to be called a hero and continue to do so the Joker although being twisted in the mind and making choices that are downright crazy seems to show that he is not so crazy after all even if that is the way he is seen. if you look at it joker seems to have a plan on what he is doing and does it…

Are heroes born heroes or are they merely a product of the moment? Some people believe that heroes are shaped by the training they undergo while some people believe that heroes simply come about in a moment of crisis. I believe that heroes are a product of the moment by taking advantage of the moment, showing true character, and not being able to plan for chaos. Heroes that are a product of the moment know how to take advantage of that moment. For example, the text about Bob Bush talks about how Bob takes advantage of the moment by going against the promise he made to his mother by taking lives while also saving lives.…

Rob Cipriano,CEO of the All humanity Group, states that “A hero is someone who we determine to have demonstrated behaviours and decisions that are ethically and emotionally worthy of our awe. We see in them something we think is not in us. Someone who inspires us by their example. Someone who moves us emotionally to connect with them at some level in order for us develop a connection with them. In many cases, it is their accomplishments. We have been granted access to their triumphant consummations of acts and deeds which, we believe, are beyond our own capacities. Their achievements become the new “superhero” standard to measure against. That we connect with a hero because a hero connects with us. Even though they have done that which, we think, is beyond us, they connect with us.” (What is a hero, Rob Cipriano, Sep 06, 2014 retrieved from http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rob-cipriano/what-is-a-hero_b_5560441.html) We admire those because of their accomplishments. It hints at the idea that there is no such perfect hero, but individual that do good things. If we look at the Jesse James movie, Robert would be a prime example, as he looked up to Jesse as a man who does things only he wished he could possibly do. Philip Zimbardo, a professor emeritus of psychology at Stanford University, says that we all have inner…

    Heroism: Hero and Ar Te

Heroism is a quality many aspire to but few achieve. Depending on the current culture and view of a particular society the definition of what it means to be a hero varies. Greek culture shared many values and ideals throughout all of its cities. However, some differences can be seen in cities such as Athens and Sparta. The readings from Homer, Xenophon, Aristophanes, and Thucydides explain the Greek ideals about heroism. While the religious groups of Christians, Muslims, and Jews shared some basic concepts they differed greatly from the Greek vision. The Christian Sermon on the Mount, the Jewish Hebrew Scriptures, and the Muslim Koran all praise a similar version of a hero.…
