Cell Analogy - Mall
Cell Membrane – The cell membrane protects the inside of the cell from outside containments, keeps the cell in contact and maintains its shape. This relates to mall security guards. They’re job is to protect the mall, make sure everything is intact and everybody is safe. Without the cell membrane, containments could enter, the security guards do the same. Without them, bad people or things could happen in the mall.

Cell Wall – The cell wall provides structural support and protection to the cells, and prevents water from entering the cell. The walls and exterior of the mall do the same job. They prevent water, snow and hot or cold air from entering. They also offer structural support.

Cytoplasm – The cytoplasm is a jelly like material that fills the cell and surrondings of the organelles. Food and oxygen move through the cytoplasm to the organelles. This is like the floors and ceilings in the mall, they hold the mall together.

Mitochondria – The powerhouse of the cell. It provides energy to be used by the cell. In a mall this would be the food court. Poeple get tired and hungry so they go to the food court to eat and gain energy or sit down and relax.

Ribosomes – They help make proteins. There are many of these organisms in cytoplasm. In a mall, the ribosomes would be the food because food has proteins in them.

Nucleus – The nucleus controls the cell and its activities, such as growth. In a mall, this would be the manager. The manager keeps everything in control. He/she controls the functions and activities in a mall as well as a cell.

Vacuole –The vacuole stores excess food, waste and other substances. In a mall this could be the storage room, storing signs or any excess mall materials, or it could be a garbage can, storing any excess waste that shoppers and employees produce.

Lysosomes – The job of the lysosomes is to clean up the cell if it is damaged. Then recycle, patrol and kill invaders. In the mall, this would be the janitors. A

Mitochondria carry out critical steps in the extraction of energy from food, and the conversion of that “trapped” energy to a useful form. They are the cell’s “power plants.” Chloroplasts are organelles found in algae and in the green parts of plants. Chloroplasts have two membranes surrounding them, as well as an internal system of stacked membrane discs.…

The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell it provides energy to the cell through respiration. The food that we eat is broken into simpler molecules like carbohydrates, fats and etc in our bodies. These are sent to the mitochondrion where they are further precessed to produce charged molecules that combine with oxygen and produce Adenosine TriPhosphate (ATP) molecules. This entire process is known as oxidative phosphorylation.Mitochondria also helps in the building of certain parts of the blood, and hormones like testosterone and estrogen.…

Mitochondria- Mitochondria are the energy factories of the cells. The energy currency for the work that animals must do is the energy-rich molecule adenosine triphosphate (ATP). The ATP is produced in the mitochondria using energy stored in food. Just as the chloroplasts in plants act as sugar factories for the supply of ordered molecules to the plant, the mitochondria in animals and plants act to produce the ordered ATP molecules as the energy supply for the processes of life.…
