Now a day the development of technology has made the world much easier than it was many decades ago. Especial in telecommunication and multimedia, the cell phone is one the core of that development. According to the cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association, as of august 2010, more than 250 million people used cell phones and also another research done by to Vermont Legislative Research shop, this increase in cell phone use has been accompanied by a increase in traffic accidents linked to cell phone use in the road way. Not surprisingly, according to a 2009 article in USA by Susan Dunn, in Texas alone, during 2003 cell phone usage was considered a contributing factor in 1,032 accident resulted in eight fatalities. The use of cell phone while you’re driving has become a serious and growing problem in our today life. Regardless of the age or the driving experience of the driver, the risk of being in a collision when using a cell phone is four times higher than when not talking on the phone. Not only does cell phone usage increase the likelihood of an accident, but it also increases the likelihood of fatalities. A recent independent study done in by the Harvard Center for Risk Analysis found that driving while using a cell phone increases the risk to 6.4 fatalities per million drivers annually. The study also found that the chance that driver using a cell phone would kill a pedestrian or other motorists was 1.5 per 1 million people. Extrapolating from these figures, with 210 million licensed drivers in the U.S., this amounts to roughly 1,660 fatalities per year stemming from cell phone-related accidents So, these factors and data show that we have a problem. But how does using a cell phone while driving create accident? Whether we realize it or not-and no matter how experienced we are as drivers we are distracted from paying attention to the road.
