The Chinese communist party controls its citizens by censoring material that is harmful to the party’s ideology in newspapers, magazines and on the internet. This puts students at a disadvantage, as they will not have the privilege of being able to view different perspective on topics. Furthermore the system is inconsistent in blocking websites. Some American Universities in China had access to google, whereas at others Google was blocked. These inconsistencies in the the resources available to students are inequitable, and unfair to those who are trying to receive a full education (“U.S. Universities”). This indoctrination of China's people serves the purpose of the keeping the public loyal, and faithful to the government, as well as limiting the chance of an uprising for democracy. The censorship limits the student's view of the world, and does not expose them to opinions that contradict their government. Some civilians, are so eager to learn the truth that they are finding ways to bypass the firewall using V.P.N’s.
