Censorship Is Bad
What would life be like without censorship? Everyone would know everything whether it is good or bad. In the real world; however, censorship allows the elimination of objectionable or dangerous ideas or information. In sources A, E, and H it is portrayed that censorship is more helpful to society than harmful. Censorship is better for society because it prevents children from becoming corrupt, lack of parenting, and bullies in the depths of cyberspace.
In Pros and Cons of Censorship, the different ways censorship used, suggest that it is not meant to hold people back, but to protect them. Censorship can be used to prevent children from pornographic material or other things that will lead them to having a corrupt mind (Pallai). If children are exposed to unnecessary images or movies at a young age they are more likely to have a corrupt future. Likewise, if a child grows up with censorship can also be used to protect young minds from harmful ideas (Pallai). If children grow up watching PG-13 or R rated movies they may grow up thinking it is okay to curse, do drugs, etc. Whereas, if children are censored to not only movies, and are taught the rights and wrongs of life they will not be doing or watching bad things until the appropriate age.

Without censorship the “dimly lit” corners of cyberspace are not safe (Yang). Censorship keeps children from falling into a stranger's trap. These traps can include: kidnapping, the stealing of information, cyberbullying, etc. Throughout cyberspace; however, there are acts of censorship (Yang). People are hired to be responsible for erasing inappropriate content. Whether it is mean comments, or treats aimed at a certain person, these hired employees go through and delete unnecessarily mean

The length the government goes through to keep censorship on this city/world is far too much. The entertainment is limited, and what they want you to see, nothing more. The schools and workplaces are strict and allow no personal thought or ideas. And if you jeopardise any of their laws or thinking processes than you are considered an outlaw and are eliminated as soon as possible.…

Whenever children enter a room, conversations cease: The children must never know the topic of discussion. Early in life, it is established that certain people must be sheltered from certain information. Censoring begins at a young age, and never completely goes away. The act of censorship has many consequences, one of them being the inability to think for oneself. If people are not presented with controversial material they won't be able to form their own opinions or ideas. This allows those in power to easily control and brainwash its citizens through censored information. The people of this society have no other choice but to believe the information…

There are some times where it is needed little, and also times where it is not needed at all. And even the times it is needed, it is not needed to the extent that it is used. There are very many ways censorship is bad for this country, and very few ways it is actually needed. Censorship in the knowledge of other countries, censorship from the government, censorship in technology, and censorship in learning are just few ways censorship is misused in the U.S. Everyone knows, as well as the pro-censorship believers, that censorship is misused in some areas. And that other areas it is not needed at all. Anyone that is pro-censorship knows well enough that it is wrong, the way it is misused. To close my argument i would like to point out the fact that pro-censorship believers have no real reason behind why it is a good thing, and cannot prove wrong that it is bad for not only children, but everyone in america. Now, i would like to resm my case by again saying to simply look into the negatives and positives of censorship, and see which one outweighs the…

“In 2001, the International Telecommunication Union calculated that, approximately 2.3 billion people had internet access at the end of that year. Since then, the percentage of people using the internet around the world has continued to grow” (Li 2). Censoring the internet has been a hot topic for quite a while now. Many people believe that censoring the web isn’t a good thing because of certain laws and rights we have as citizens. The internet has some cons but it also has many pros. Censorship violates humanity's natural autonomy in that it denies an individual an uninfluenced choice in formulating his or her beliefs. Even if the most intelligent human beings are very sure in respect to the truth of an idea, it is wrong for certain individuals to deny other individuals the opportunity to come to a decision themselves. Censorship is wrong because it disregards humanity's basic rational nature and its ability to critically evaluate complex ideas. In effect, censorship is unacceptable because it refuses to recognize another human being's intelligence and free will.…

Censorship is caused when books, movies, etc. are examined, and unacceptable parts are suppressed or the whole thing is banned. Schools nationwide have been banning books due to reasons such as racial issues, sexual explicit content, religious affiliations, violence, political bias, encouragement of “damaging” lifestyles, and etc. Often it is argued that banning books protects students from being exposed to inappropriate content, while others say that students should have the freedom to read what they want.…

Many people hate censorship because they think it takes away their freedom of speech. It doesn’t because as long as the people don’t say things that should be said they won’t be censored. Censorship stops things from being seen that shouldn’t be. Censorship is a necessity for the new…

Censorship is an action that may seem well thought out, but is actually an ineffective and impractical stance of approaching violence in movies. Instead of developing solutions on how to shelter society, one should devote time to educating the youth on the dangers of violence and teach them the difference between fantasy and reality. This way, the United States of America will be safer and keep its capitalistic mindset in…
