Central Advent Christian Church Scholarship Essay
Throughout my life I have always been committed and passionate in what I do. My faith fell first on this list. From a very young age I knew the importance and growth that came from knowing God and being an active member of a church family. The growth I experienced in church manifested and trickled out into my everyday life including academics. Central Advent Christian Church set this foundation of growth as a young man which has allowed me to build upon this foundation.
I loved living in the small community of Caldwell county. When my dad and I went out on Saturday mornings to run errands we would always see at least 5 people I knew or my dad had known since he was a child and most of the time …show more content…
I was scared to say the least, however during this time God played an active role by aligning my family with people, resources, and motivation to not close the door he had opened. Now, after almost 5 years since that time I am faced with another challenge… College. I have always set goals for myself and College is no exception. The big goal that many people overlook in college is to create connections and change people's lives through God and expose them to Christ when there are so many negative temptations. My “common” college goal is to obtain an engineering degree get my masters and then find a secure and satiating career. However another goal I have set for myself is to come out of College with the least amount of debt as possible.
A scholarship for me helps me reach this goal and my engineering goals as well which, in turn, helps me focus on spreading the love of God through my actions, my main goal. Starting next week I will turn to a new chapter in my life and just as Central Advent Christian Church played a role in my success earlier in my life I would ask for you to play a role in this
