Prairie Meadows Personal Statement
Prairie Meadows Personal Statement One of the earliest memories I have is me sitting in my basement next to the dryer, staring at Rachel Ray slice and dice things on T.V. My mom had to literally pick me up and bring me back upstairs to stop watching. Since then, I loved to watch cooking shows like Good Eats, Paula Deen, Chopped, Unwrapped; whatever was on, I was watching it. I would be mesmerized by how they moved in the kitchen and how they would chop things so fast. I also watched just to look at how good the food is. Around age 7, I started begging my mom to let me bake something. But she would blow me off and say, “You can make things with your Easy Bake.”. Finally, after all my nagging she bought us Betty Crocker blueberry muffin mix. This was a big moment in my life, I was getting to ready to bake something for the first time. The whole time I was stirring the batter I thought, “Wow, I’m a master at all things baking,” in reality they turned out burnt. …show more content…
I want to do the things I love and this scholarship will help me do that. I could make my food as great as Rachel Ray. With this scholarship I will be able to start my own bakery and share my creations with people.
Seeing a smile on my mom’s face when she tries anything I make is one of the warmest feelings in the world. I love seeing people enjoying my food, so I want to see more people enjoy it in my own bakery. If people get happy from eating my food, then I will have accomplished my goal in life. Feeding my community is first thing that I would be able to
